Hi, I'm Ben.
I've spent more than two decades working in senior living and wellness, but the thread running through all of it isn't fitness. It's systems.
I started as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, working one-on-one with clients and teaching group classes across the Twin Cities. Over time I moved into managing fitness centers and wellness programs, and I kept noticing the same thing. The programming was never the hard part. The hard part was everything underneath it: scheduling, tracking, communication, the stuff that has to work quietly in the background for anything else to succeed.
So I started fixing that stuff. At one job, I inherited a manual billing process that ate three hours a month and was full of errors. I automated it. Reconciliation dropped to under ten minutes across four insurance portals. Later, I built a Kanban-based system to manage resident service requests, a shift reminder tool in Power Automate to close coverage gaps, an Excel tracker with automated reporting for clinical fitness data, and an AirTag system that solved a years-long problem with missing shopping carts.
None of that was in my job description. I built it because I saw a gap and couldn't leave it alone.
That's the work I want to do more of. I'm currently focused on roles in data analysis, operations, and project management, where building and improving systems isn't a side project, it's the job. I'm still open to wellness management and program coordination roles too, since that background is real and I'm proud of it.
I've spent my career finding the broken system nobody wanted to deal with and fixing it anyway. I'm ready to make that my main job, not a side project. I'm based in the Twin Cities.
If that's the kind of person your team needs, I'd love to hear from you.
Ben Lee
