Mill City Yoga

Mill City Yoga is a collaboration between Jon Hallberg M.D and Benjamin Lee. The goal is to bring yoga out of the health and fitness arena and into the community, and to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere where people can improve their health.

Classes typically run on an eight week schedule. New students may start any time during the session. Attending each week is recommended.

All yoga supplies are provided (although it's nice if you have your own mat).

How to get there:

Class is on the 8th floor of the Guthrie in classrooms 1 & 2. Enter via main doors and tell them you are here for yoga. You can either use the "stage door" or the elevators near the restaurant.

The stage door is the glass door to your right as you enter the building.There will be someone at the desk who will unlock the glass door. Once through that door, take the elevators around the corner on your left up to the 8th level.

When taking the public elevators, get off on the 4th floor, walk straight forward to the east elevators (about 30 feet) and take those elevators up to the 8th floor.

Etiquette: The practice of yoga is not only a gift of healing for yourself, it is also a way to develop community and to support others. Being mindful of the impact your choices have on those around you is a beautiful way to care for your fellow yogis.

The following guidelines will support an environment that inspires tranquility and wellness:

  • Be on time.Class starts promptly begins at 5:15 pm. Arriving at least 5 minutes before class will allow you enough time to get settled. It shows respect for your teacher and your fellow students.
  • No cell phone use in the building. Please ensure you phones are turned all the way off before entering.
  • Be respectful of those who are practicing and keep conversation at a low volume. Conversation within the yoga space should be kept to a minimum.
  • Avoid using perfumes and other products with fragrance.
  • Please take steps to prevent body odor during your practice. Showering before practice can be a big help.
  • If you must leave early, let the teacher know before class and they will cue you to start savasana early. If you know you need to leave early please find a spot near the door.

Other Information: Classes are rarely canceled, however, in case of severe weather class may be canceled. In which case an email will be sent out and a make up class scheduled. Please assure your contact information is up to date. You can updated it on the contact page.
